The sustainable event

Fiera Milano, being ISO 20121 certified (Sustainable Event Management System), plans and creates events with particular attention to environmental, economic and social issues.

Events' carbon footprint measurement

Fiera Milano, in line with the Sustainability Plan and with its corporate mission, started the process of measuring the carbon footprint generated by its events in 2022. The Group has developed a proprietary and innovative model for measuring GHG emissions deriving from events held in its exhibition spaces, according to the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) methodology. The first events covered by this measurement were Homi F&J and BIT.

International commitment

Fiera Milano is a signatory company and sponsor of Net Zero Carbon Events, the global initiative to reduce environmental impacts in the trade fair industry, with the commitment  to achieving net zero GHG emissions by 2050, in line with the targets of the Paris Agreement to limit warming to 1.5°C and cut global GHG emissions by 50% by 2030.

Fiera Milano joined the UN Global Compact in 2023, by sharing and applying within its sphere of influence 10 fundamental principles relating to Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-corruption.
