Cartoomics returns, three days of comics, cinema and games
A three-day exhibition dedicated to comics, cinema and video games: Cartoomics, the festival of pop culture and entertainment taking place in Fiera Milano (Rho) from 9 to 11 March. There are various new features for this 25th edition: one of the most important is the enlargement of the spaces and new thematic areas. A new hall, in addition to the two existing ones, will be dedicated to cinema and home video. This will be the setting for the UniVision Days events organised by Univideo, with meetings, discussions and previews with actors, screenwriters and directors from the sector. The main character in the hall will be Lara Croft, heroine of Tomb Raider, who returns to cinemas on 15 March.
Other new features include the western, horror and kids thematic areas, alongside the established spaces dedicated to comics, publishing, video games, board games and science fiction. There are not only amusements and role-playing games but also spaces for education, with Cartoomics University, a new festival format that puts "comics on the lecture podium". A rich programme of talks dedicated to comics, cinema and screenplay will allow visitors to engage with true experts from the Italian scene, such as Altan, Bruno Bozzetto, Vince Tempera and many others.
The Diabolik exhibition is dedicated to Sergio Zaniboni, the great illustrator and 'king of terror', who passed away last August. Dozens of original illustrations are exhibited, in addition to memorabilia and gadgets that present the famous thief through the pen of one of his cartoonists.
