Tempo di Libri, five days of reading with 900 authors
Five days celebrating the pleasures of reading, with 900 authors and celebrities, 650 events and a timetable extended until to 10.00 pm on Friday and Saturday to allow maximum public participation. This is Tempo di Libri, the international publishing fair promoted by AIE – Associazione Italiana Editori (Italian Publishers’ Association) and Fiera Milano, staged from 8 to 12 March in Fieramilanocity.
After last year’s zero edition, the fair is moving to the Fiera halls in the city and aims to welcome young people and school students in particular. “I’m thoroughly optimistic,” said Giuseppe Sala, Mayor of Milan, which has been designated by Unesco as a Creative City of Literature. “The location and date this year will favour us; it will be a successful edition.” Tempo di Libri celebrates reading at a time when book sales are seeing a 5 per cent growth, according to Istat and AIE data highlighted at the presentation press conference, and the economic crisis of previous years seems to be almost overcome.
