EICMA 2017: one more hall and 150 world premieres
Everyone at the starting line for the 75th International Bicycle and Motorcyle Exhibition at Fiera Milano (Rho) that will be opening its gates to the wider public on Thursday 9 November, after two days dedicated to the press and the trade, and will end on Sunday 12 November.
More than 150 world premieres will be showcased by the 1626 exhibitors, including bicycles, motorbikes and accessories, which will be hosted in halls 9-11, 13-15, 18, 22-24, one more than last year (hall 18) because of the huge number of requests to participate. The area dedicated to E-Bikes is back again (with a 1000-metre track with a constant gradient of 8% to simulate a mountain trail so riders can experience the advantages of assisted pedalling) along with the Start Up and Innovation area, and the ever-popular MotoLive outdoor area (lots of races scheduled, in addition to Freestyle Motocross shows) and the Temporary Bikers Shop - the retail space dedicated wholly to bikers - is back for the fourth year running.
The Safety Area will be hosting education and information sessions, while the innovation for 2017 is the East Eicma Motorcycle, set in a former metalworking factory in the Lambrate district of Milan, which will host vintage and "special" motorcycles, with about 100 Italian and international customisers. Entry is free of charge (Thursday and Friday, from 4 pm to 11 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 11 pm).
Again this year, EICMA will invade the streets of Milan at night with shows and music, in five urban areas of Milan (“Motoquartiere” Isola, the “Clubbing” district of Garibaldi, the ”East Side” of Lambrate, the “creative nightlife” of Porta Venezia and the “chaos” of the Navigli and Darsena) will host 180+ events.
